Month two of teaching Sabbatical

I might as well call it as it is. I am on sabbatical until at least January and I have been actually more on the ball regarding teaching materials and supplementary books that I can use to be a better teacher. I am slowly warming up to the idea of becoming a bit more proficient in maths education because that is an area that I haven't worked in and also am a bit slow personally in.

So I've been hitting the amazon shelves to see what's out there that can help in that. I have a load of good language and history resources, but the sciences and math need boosting up. Especially since I may have to expand my field when it comes to education and make myself more marketable and such.

I've also been reading blogs by my former colleague that has detailed practices that I want to put into practice when I get back into the classroom. As much as I miss teaching, I'm glad to have this space to do what I want and derp around in my own research. If I want to read about Tottenham and Gareth Bale and the Damned United, I get to do so just because. I need that break to think and come up with things that I know will eventually become ideas for dealing with people and writing.

They are tied together and I'm lucky that I have the chance to just take a breather and reevaluate what is going on. I suspect that if I didn't get the breather, I'd probably go stark raving mad or switch paths, because the last few years have been sort of weird. So I'm glad I can chillax and just derp.

And to watch football games. That's always fun. Considering Liverpool's being doing pretty consistently great of late, that's a nice treat to sit down and get the games, rather than twitter updates.
